iPhone 3G - My Hands On Review

iphone_3g_black-249x300 iPhone 3G - My Hands On Review

The all new iPhone G3, I didn’t buy it, NO, I stole it from one of my friends for the day. She wasn’t very happy. Anyway I got to use the 1st generation iPhone and compare it to the new G3 and I have to say, Apple has improved on almost everything.

I especially felt the difference in the way it fit in my hand. Apple has improve the shape making it seem as if it is thinner. Pretty much its just less bulky and square. The screen and LCD are exactly the same as the first generation’s screen. As for

the back of the new iPhone its plastic and apple is saying that it is more “durable”. But whats behind that plastic cover is apples best improvement on the iPhone.

Behind that plastic case there are 10 different radio bands, counting 3 GSM bands, 4 3G bands, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and some other one. Anyway, I made a call with it, side by side with the 1st generation iPhone, and the reception is definitely better.

Well after I hung up I took a deeper look into the phone and the camera wasn’t noticeably better, I mean you can’t complain but I would have liked to see a better camera. Well as I got deeper into the phone I noticed that it asked me to give permission to both the maps program and the camera app to use my location. It reminded me of Vista and it’s security prompts.

The only other thing I really noticed was the new metal buttons. The were chromed and the dock button was recessed a little more than the first gen. Well they just felt better to me and I just like them better.

Well, If you have not picked up an iPhone yet cause you were afraid now is the time. The improvements are awesome and I have a feeling everything from here on out will be just small upgrades. Speaking of upgrades, If you have the first gen iPhone it is well worth it to upgrade, especially if you plan on sticking with AT&T.
