New iPods - Again

Well Apple’s, what seems to be, 29th redo of the iPod came out a couple days ago and they look pretty spiffy. So since my ancient iPod gave out on me I was looking at these new iPods online, and they have some cool new features along with some not so good ones.

The new iPod Nano is beautiful and I just like how its so small. Its their thinnest iPod at less than 1/4 of an inch (.25 inches or 6.35 mm) and they added some new features like the shake-to-shuffle function and accelerometer screen, which senses which direction a user is holding the device (similar to the iPod touch and the iPhone). It also has a function called “Genius” which will make playlists of similar music at the click of a button, which I believe is useless cause it just won’t work the way you want it to. Its available in 8GB (for $150) and 16GB  (for $200) capacities.

They also changed around the “iPod Classic” it now only comes in one size, 120GB, which still holds upto 30,000 songs, 150 hours of video or 25,000 pictures but is less than what they had before. You can still watch movies and videos, and play games but now you get that useless Genius feature. I would call this your best bet, it seems like this iPod is gonna stay this way for a while, so no worries the next time they do it.

Then their was the Touch. Apple’s new iPod touch looks cool, its sleeker and they say it fits better in the hand and it really looks like it does. It plays games and it looks SO cool, I saw some of the videos of actual games being played on the apple site, they were cool. You can  just move it like a seering wheel and drive a car theirs on screen controls and all that. Anyway, some people are saying that they hate the new built in speaker, which is gonna have low quality sound, cause no one wants to listen to the other guys music. The iPod supposidly ended the “boom box” era so to see the speakers may bring back the old obnoxious music listeners.

So my personal favoriot is the new iPod touch, but if you want an iPod that isn’t gonna change in 6 monthes the classic is for you.
