The Nikon Coolpix P80, is simpily amazing, but then again I woulden’t expect anything short of amazing from Nikon. This past Saterday I went down to the camera shop in town and just wanted to check out the best camera for the punch. My goal was to find a powerful camera that the average consumer could afford, well the Nikon Coolpix P80 had more than enough power at a price most can afford.
I got lucky cause the guy at the camera shop actually let me play around with the camera in an all around the store.
Anyway The zoom on it was AMAZING, 18x Optical zoom, when you think about it an average camera comes with 3 to 5x optical zoom and those slr cameras normally come with a 10x zoom lense and you can a better one for over $200. I digress, the zoom isn’t the only amazing thing.
It’s 10.2 megapixels which means you get huge 20×30 inch photos or plenty of resolution to crop. It has a nice sized screen to match too. I think the sales guy said it was 2.5 inches, whatever, it was more than big enough. Another cool thing was the it auto adjusts to up to ISO 6400, which means you can takeĀ sharper, more natural-looking photos in lower light conditions.
Because its a Nikon you get all thos cool features too. One that I thought was cool you could switch to “sports continuous scene mode” and you can shoot 15 pictures per second, and up to 30 if you lower it to 3 megapixels. Another one was the “optical vibration reduction image stabilization” in other words while you use that 18x zoom you don’t have to worry about you shakey hand. I got to use this and its not perfect but its pretty close.
Anyway I give this one a 5 out of 5, its amazing and as soon as I save $330 im gonna pick one up at amazon.com
