Alienware M17: A portable desktop?

November 5th, 2008

m17_gallery_8 Alienware M17: A portable desktop?

Calling this computer a notebook is a huge understatement, it’s called the Alienware M17 and its amazing. I mean would they call it an “Extreme gaming notebook” if it wasn’t amazing? I like to call it a “Portable desktop” cause really as gizmodo would say it’s “barely portable”. It’s a 17-inch 10 pound notebook, I would love to see you lug that around campus.

Instead of the traditional Nvidia SLI graphics card Alienware has stuffed an insane ATI dual Radeon HD 3870 with CrossFireX into it. With it the threw in an equally insane Intel Core2 Quad processor and 4 gigs of ram. Let’s just say the starting money is equally amazing at a starting price of $1,399. BUT if you want the insane setup that deserves a Bugatti badge on it your gonna need to dish out a serious $4,199.

So start savin up.

Useless Thing Of The Week - Non Stop Top

nonsto_lg-300x257 Useless Thing Of The Week - Non Stop Top

Tops, you know what I’m talking about, those things that spin for a couple of seconds then fall over. Its like having cops break up an awesome fight. Well if you just don’t want the fun to stop then boy are you gonna be happy. The Non Stop Top doesn’t just spin for a full minute, not just ten minutes, not just an hour but a full eight hours unless you stop it your self.

The awesome part is its pink and has built in strobe lights so you can take the party with you everywhere you go!!!! The guys that made it had a really good idea for it other than sitting and watching to see if it will ever stop spinning.

You could probably win quite a wad of cash by taking bets from the uninformed as to how long your new top will spin.

:P They would probly make fun of you though since its pink…

Get your: Non Stop Top and win that money.

FitBit: Track your health

fitbit-300x235 FitBit: Track your health

When I first saw these things it sorta reminded me of Tamagotchi, the huge hit with all the kids in the late 90’s. Remember… you had to feed them and make sure they stayed healthy, well now your the pet and it’s called FitBit, so it might not be as fun. :(

The FitBit is a small clip-on device with a built-in motion sensor that acts as a pedometer, it tracks exercise intensity, sleep quality, calories burned and distance traveled.  It then sends all that info to the Internet via Wi-Fi, where you can compare your stats with other fit bit users and see how your doing.

The FitBit will be sold for $99 this winter and will be available along with lots of other fitness equipment at EverythingFitness.com
